Former Yes Telecom CS exec Vinny Sohanpaul joins roaming SIM provider to oversee reseller sales drive

Roaming SIM MVNO 24 Seven has appointed a new reseller channel manager who will be tasked with building relationships in the B2B dealer market.

24 Seven, which sells the “Jump” SIM that allows users to roam onto a different mobile network in areas with no signal, will now offer its products through third parties for the first time.

In his new role, Vinny Sohanpaul will be tasked with promoting all of the 24 Seven’s services to a wider market via the B2B reseller channel.

Sohanpaul joins from Talk Straight Limited, where he was mobile services manager for six years, and has also previously held roles with Nexus Telecoms and Yes Telecom (now part of Vodafone).

On joining 24 Seven, he said: “This is an exciting time for the business, and we have already identified some important priority areas for developing 24 Seven’s services and reach.

“I’ll be working with resellers to help deliver this message and explain the benefits of 24 Seven’s services. Jump, the national roaming SIM from 24 Seven, has been a really good indicator as to the innovation and ambition of this business and I’m looking forward to contributing to its future success.”

24 Seven launched its Jump SIM in April, saying it would help businesses cut out mobile “notspots” – areas where there is no signal from any operator. MPs debated the Notspot issue in Parliament yesterday (October 13).

The SIM can connect to O2, EE and Vodafone depending which operator has the strongest signal, eliminating so-called ‘notspots’. Since its launch, 24 Seven has signed up 12 resellers and is hoping to add more, according to MD David Samuel.

“The appointment of a reseller specific role was a key strategic priority for this business and will open up significant growth areas,” he explained. “We’re delighted to welcome Vinny to our strong team, he brings valuable experience to the business and I look forward to seeing his input take our company to new ground.
