BlackBerry has appointed Wayne G. Wouters to its board of directors. His role is effective immediately and he will also serve as a member of the board’s audit and risk management committee.
Wouters’ appointment makes him the eighth member of the board.
Prior to this role, Wouters served as the Clerk of the Privy Council of Canada, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister of Canada and Secretary to the Cabinet.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen said: “I am pleased to welcome Wayne Wouters to our Board of Directors. Mr. Wouters brings to BlackBerry valuable experience in government relations, strategic leadership, international trade and economic policy.”
