Agreement sees Data Select joins Ingram Micro and Brightstar in providing full BlackBerry portfolio to the indirect channel
Data Select has added BlackBerry to its list of official handset distribution partners.
The Marlow based firm announced the agreement, which will also include BlackBerry software products and services, to its dealer partners today (November 5).
It takes its number of direct manufacturer relationships to eight, already holding agreements with Samsung, Sony, Huawei, CAT, Kazam, Alcatel onetouch and Motorola.
Data Select joins rivals Ingram Micro, Tech Data and Brightstar in supplying the manufacturers products to the UK market.
The moves comes ahead of a critical period for BlackBerry with the launch of its first ever Android run device, the BlackBerry Priv. The device is due to go on sale next week (November 9) costing around £560 SIM free.
Other features on the Priv 4G connectivity, 5.4 inch screen (2560 x 1440 pixels) 18 megapixel rear camera (two megapixel front facing) , touch sensitive slide out keyboard, up to 25 hours talk time 3,410mAh battery (350 standby), nano SIM and weighs 192g, marginally lighter than the BlackBerry Passport, which weighs 196g. The iPhone 6s Plus weighs 172g, to draw comparison with non BlackBerry models.
Data Select works with more than 400 B2B and consumer customers.
