The acquisition will enable Truphone entry into the M2M market
Truphone has completed the acquisition of IoT specialists CoSwitched.
The international MVNO announced the news on December 23. Portugal-based CoSwitched is an Internet of Things (IoT) specialist who specialises in connected car and smart meter products. The acquisition will see Truphone enable its SIM products to be used with CoSwitched’s range of machine to machine (M2M) products.
UK-based Truphone provides customers with single SIM cards, which have multiple international numbers enabled for use in over 200 countries.
Truphone CEO Steve Robertson said: “We are delighted that CoSwitched is joining us. Through this acquisition we’ll be able to apply our core product benefits to the Internet of Things ecosystems and address the demand of international customers for a consolidated proposition across multiple markets.”
CoSwitched CEO Bruno Duarte said: “Truphone shares our vision of seamless machine connectivity to the Internet, anywhere in the world. We are very excited to join forces. With Truphone’s presence and network we will further increase the value we bring to our customers and will significantly extend both our geographical and market reach.
