CES 2016: Samsung launches Galaxy TabPro S and Samsung Gear S2 update

The Samsung Gear S2 update includes two new additions to the smartwatch range.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy TabPro S tablet (pictured) and two new updates to the Gear S2 smartwatch.

All products were unveiled by the manufacturer at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES)  2016. The GalaxyTab Pro S acts as both a traditional tablet and portable laptop. Users can attach a separate keyboard to the device.

The Galaxy TabPro S runs on the Windows 10 operating system, is 6.3mm thin and weighs 693 grams. It also has a 12-inch AMOLED display, which Samsung claims offers unprecedented clarity and colour accuracy.

Samsung claims the battery can just fully charge in 2.5 hours and offers up to 10.5 hours battery life. It also has an Intel Core M Processor. A multi-port adapter and Bluetooth Pen are also optional extras.

The Gear S2 smartwatch range has also been updated with two new editions. The first is an 18K rose gold version, whilst the other comes in platinum (pictured).

Both devices include NFC technology enabling users to use the device for contactless payment. New apps are also available, including some from ESPN, eBay and Uber.

Samsung has also teamed up with fashion designer Colombo to offer premium watch straps. Watch faces can also be swapped around, with several new additions including characters from the animated series Peanuts.

Both devices will be available from February, but Samsung has not confirmed UK pricing or availability.
