The new range was unveiled in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress on February 21
Carphone Warehouse claims demand for the Samsung Galaxy S7 in the 48-hours since its unveiling is up 200 per cent compared to the S6’s launch in the same period last year.
The Korean manufacturer unveiled both devices to a packed audience of 2,000 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to Carphone, pre-orders have far exceeded expectations in the two days since its launch.
Up to 30 per cent of S7 pre-orders were made on launch evening. Carphone claims it experienced a huge spike in demand between 7pm and 12am on the night of the S7’s unveiling.

Carphone Warehouse Customer Solutions general manager Aman Bhacu said: “We knew this would be one of the most successful launches in Carphone history, as we’ve being working very closely with Samsung over the past 12 months.”
The new range consists of the regular S7 and S7 edge. Both handsets are available go on general sale on March 11. Vodafone, EE, O2 and Three have also confirmed they will be stocking the devices. Available in black or gold, the S7 and S7 edge start from £569 and £639 respectively.
