Customers will be able to transfer minimum of £1 credit family and friends on any network

Lycamobile has launched a new service which will allow customers to transfer airtime credit to family and friends.

The EE MVNO will let customers in the UK, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Scandinavia transfer a minimum of £1 to other people on any network as part of its new airtime transfer service.

Customers can send the airtime credits in one of two ways: they can either use a short dialling code to send the credit, or log on to their “My Lycamobile” online account.

The amount is then automatically transferred to the recipient, and, if sent abroad, it is converted into the national currency of the destination user.

Lycamobile chairman Subaskaran Allirajah said, “The number of people with relatives and friends in other countries – global families – is continuing to grow, and we have built our business on providing a service that works for them.

“By allowing our customers to transfer their pay as you go credit across networks and borders, we are making staying connected even easier. We’re excited to roll this new feature out as we know this is a service our customers have been asking for.”
