The stage is almost set, as the industry gets ready for the biggest telecom awards night of the year
The Grand Ballroom of the The Hilton on Park Lane is a hive of activity as preparations are gathering apace for the 22nd Mobile News Awards.
More than 750 industry guests will later arrive for a world-class awards ceremony, fine dining and an all-night party to celebrate the best in the business.
The awards will be hosted by top comedian Simon Brodkin in his alter-ego “Lee Nelson”. Brodkin made global headlines last week when he infiltrated the launch of a new electric Volkswagen car at the Geneva Motor Show last week. He dressed as a Volkswagen mechanic and told the world’s press he was there to install an emissions “Cheat Box”.
He also showered former FiFA head Sepp Blatter with $600 dollar bills during a press conference in Zurich and gatecrashed Kaye West’s set during last years Glastonbury Festival.
“We’re in for a great evening,” said Mobile News editor Michael Garwood. “Once again we’d like to thank all our sponsors who make the event possible. And of course all the organisations and people who booked tables and tickets. We won’t let you down.”
