TMT First aiming to double turnover in 12 months

Service and repair company has opened a Samsung Service Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, with discussions with other manufacturers ongoing

TMT First is confident of doubling turnover to £34 million in the next 12 months as it looks to complete a number of major deals over the coming weeks.

The company opened a Samsung Service Centre in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this month offer ingretail customers in or out of warranty mobile device repair completed within an hour. TMT First has also identified two other unnamed sites in the Midlands to open stores in partnership with the manufacturer.

Samsung has 14 branded accredited repair centres throughout the UK and Ireland. It has informed TMT First that it broke records with the number of customers visiting the store in the first week, although figures weren’t available at the time of press.

The mobile service and repair firm is also in discussions with other manufacturers regarding repair centre options.

Rapid growth
Speaking exclusively to Mobile News, TMT First managing director and founder Adam Whitehouse (pictured second left) said that if all other possible deals are confirmed, staff numbers could double from 75 to 150 inside the next year.

He added a major driver in its rapid growth has been the relocation to Vodafone’s former call centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire at the end of last year, providing it with offices, a distribution hub and repair centre.

This is twice the size of its former premises and measures 43,000 square feet, enabling it to create a 30-man repair centre. TMT First occupies half of the new building but expects to grow this to 70 per cent over the next year, with the addition of new customers, services and staff.

“Turnover will double in the next 12 months,” said Whitehouse. “We were restricted in the old building but there was only so much we could do. It’s now about building strong relationships with the big players and we have built an organisation to complement them.

Accelerate success
“People can see we have partnered with the world’s largest vendor in Samsung and they are trusting us to be part of
their growth plans. We’ve been able to accelerate the success of the store and Samsung has provided us with tremendous support.

“If a few of our deals come off, we’ll have 100 staff in two months and if more are successful, it will surge to 150.
“I have a hard-working team and we are all excited by what we can achieve. We can continue to go from strength to strength.”
