O2 Direct Partner will provide unified cloud telephony solution across 300 branches for the insurance company

Azzurri Communications has won a contract to provide a unified cloud telephony solution across 300 branches for insurance provider NFU Mutual.

O2 Direct Partner Azzurri, which was recently bought by Maintel in a deal that will add £90 million to yearly revenues, will provide its ICON Communicate solution to the insurance provider.

ICON includes IP telephony, call recording, core management and compliant credit card payment capabilities, with the solution set to roll out to more than 300 NFU branches later this year.

Azzurri claims the rollout is the first of its kind in the UK, saying it won the contract based on the flexibility of its cloud solution.

“We’re delighted to be working with NFU Mutual and its agency network on an industry-first project such as this,” said Azzurri Communications Chris Jagusz.

“Internal efficiency, regulatory compliance and reliability are all watchwords at board level in any organisation, but NFU Mutual recognised the further importance of these principles – assuring and growing customer confidence.

Using our cloud-first capabilities our design satisfies NFU Mutual’s needs in a way that’s suitable for the scale and distributed structure of the organisation.”

NFU Mutual offers insurance for businesses, personal use and farming, and has more than 900,000 customers nationwide.

“We needed a solution that included three core aspects – a centralised hosted telephony solution, call recording and PCI DSS capabilities – to simplify our branch-to-branch communications, improve productivity and to protect our customers and our staff. Azzurri was the clear choice,” said NFU Mutual CIO Tim Mann.

“Azzurri’s ICON Communicate satisfied all our requirements, and because of its inherently cloud-based nature, it has ticked all the boxes for ease of deployment, visibility of performance, business continuity and overall costs.”
