Rugged manufacturer will develop handsets and accessories branded under the iconic car manufacturer’s logo

Bullitt has announced a new brand partnership with car manufacturer Land Rover to develop a range of smartphones and accessories.

The deal will bring an end Land Rover’s existing handset brand agreement with Sonim, which saw it release a number of devices including the Land Rover S2 and Land Rover A8.

The two firms said the new range will launch next year and will be aimed at people who “like to take on new challenges”

Jaguar Land Rover director of licensing and branded goods Lindsay Weaver said: “Incorporating iconic Land Rover design and innovative technology into the mobile phone sector with Bullitt Group presents an exciting challenge and fantastic opportunity to take the brand into a new dimension.

“An engineering and design team from Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations will be assigned to the partnership and subsequently deliver a number of bespoke applications tailored to Land Rover brand and product values.”

It is the latest in a string of branding agreements for Bullitt, which last year added Ministry of Sound for its accessories and lifestyle divisions. It also builds handsets under the Kodak, CAT, and JCB brands, and also makes cases under the Ted Baker label.

When he joined Bullitt at the start of the year, as first revealed by Mobile News, Group CEO Peter Stephens said he expected to announce two new brand partners this year.

Following this announcement, Stephens said:“ We’re delighted to have formed a partnership with Land Rover and to be helping them inject their brand values of cutting-edge design and durability into the mobile phone market.

“We’re confident the new range of products will perfectly encapsulate everything that Land Rover represents, appealing to those who already love the brand and providing an introduction to those who are yet to discover it.”
