Customers will get a free six-month trial when it becomes available from September 1
EE is offering an exclusive six-month trial of Apple Music to new and upgrading customers, marking the first time a trial of the streaming platform has been available from a UK operator.
Apple launched the music streaming service worldwide on June 30 and it now has more than 15 million paying subscribers The smartphone manufacturer has tried to differentiate itself from rivals Spotify, TIdal and Google Play Music by adding exclusive content and Siri integration to Apple Music.
The offer will be available from September 1 for any new and upgrading customer taking out a pay monthly or SIM-only plan. After the trial, customers will be charged £9.99 per month to use the service.
It is compatible with the latest iOS (iPhone 4s and newer, iPad and Apple Watch) and Android devices. Voice control for Apple Music is not available on Android devices, however.
EE CEO Marc Allera said: “We’re delighted to be the first UK operator to offer Apple Music, with its incredible catalogue of songs, playlists, and Beats 1 radio.”
The offer will be supported by a multi-million pound advertising campaign featuring Hollywood star Kevin Bacon and popstar Britney Spears.
