IFA 2016: Acer launches Iconia Talk S phablet and Liquid Z6 handset


The Iconia Talk S will be available in the UK from September priced from £159.

Acer launched its new Iconia Talk S phablet (pictured) and Liquid Z6 smartphone at this year’s IFA in Berlin today (August 31).

The Taiwanese manufacturer has designed to Iconia Talk S for both consumers and business users alike. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google’s latest operating system and provides up to nine hours of battery life.

Other features include dual-SIM support, an HD screen, anti-slip finish designed to decrease the likelihood of accidental drops and a 13MP camera. Microsoft Office Suite, which comes with applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint, is preinstalled.

Liquid Z6

The Liquid Z6 was the second handset Acer launched at IFA. It has a curved glass display and an ‘ultra-premium’ metal back and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Two variants are available; the regular Z6 and the Z6 Plus. The Z6 comes with a five-inch screen whilst the Z6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display. An 8MP rear camera is attached to the former. The latter boasts a 13MP snapper on the back instead and a fingerprint sensor for added security.

Prices for the Iconia Talk S start from £159 and it will be available in the UK in September. UK pricing and availability for the Liquid Z6 range are yet to be announced.
