CityFibre transforms Bracknell into Gigabit City

CityFibre will connect the town of Bracknell with  high speed internet continuing its commitment to improve UK business broadband speed

Businesses across Bracknell will receive fibre broadband speeds of up to 1000Mbps as part of CtyFibre’s Gigabit City project.

CityFibre claims Bracknell will be provided with “some of the fastest download and upload speeds in the world” as a result of the project. Recently Onecom signed a £3.2 million deal with CityFibre to connect Coventry, Leicester and Nottingham to CityFibre’s network of fibre optic broadband.

The Gigabit City project launched in 2013 with CityFibre committing to connect UK businesses with Internet speeds of up to 1000Mbps. Other cities in the expansion include Milton Keynes, Glasgow, Leeds and Reading.

CityFibre commercial director Rob Hamlin (pictured) said: “The Thames Valley is an economic powerhouse and it is important that this growing region has the best connectivity possible to enable it to remain competitive on a global stage. This is what we aim to provide here at CityFibre, transformational infrastructure to boost local business.”

“We are now able to offer local businesses next-generation internet services at highly competitive prices that will turbocharge their capabilities and give them a huge head-start over the competition,” added BtL managing director Rob Lamden.
