Staff numbers have surged to 500, with company buying 12 companies since being established in 2011
Six Degrees Group (6DG) has passed the £100 million revenue milestone and seen employee numbers surge from five to 500 as it celebrates its five year anniversary.
The unified communications provider was established by Alistair Mills (pictured) in October 2011, after he sold managed services provider SpiriTel to Daisy Group for £27 million less than a year earlier.
6DG has achieved its growth through a mixture of M&A and organic activity. It has bought 12 companies since its inception, including Sunrise Associates, Aurora Networks, Ultraspeed, Datahop, Firstserv and Serverstream.
6DG has two data centres in Surrey and Warwickshire, spanning 15,000 square feet and it claims to have accelerated a converged technology approach through the development of solutions such as Unified Communications as a Service (UcaaS) and growth of cloud platforms.
The company has also raised nearly £400,000 for WeSeeHope, a charity supporting children orphaned or isolated by extreme poverty in Southern and Eastern Africa, while also achieving the Investors in People Silver accreditation.
Mills said: “Six Degrees has achieved a great deal in its first five years with a healthy mix of organic and acquisitive growth.”
