He will leave the mobile operator after nine years to pursue “future opportunities”

EE managing director of operations and strategy Bruno Duarte is leaving the mobile operator after nine years. His duties will be taken on by chief finance officer Stephen Harris.

Duarte (pictured) joined Orange in July 2007 having spent almost two years at Three as UK strategy director.

In April 2010, he became VP of Home, where he led the fixed broadband team and a major restructuring programme when Orange moved from developing its own fixed infrastructure to becoming a major wholesale partner with BT.

Duarte also oversaw EE’s introduction of its fibre broadband service and development of EE TV, which was released in October 2014.

He then became vice president of consumer pay monthly in August 2014, driving performance and EE’s pricing strategy in that sector to maintain the operator’s position as number one for handset and mobile broadband market share.

Since BT’s £12.5 billion acquisition of EE in February, he took on a new role heading up strategy and operations, while ensuring a successful integration into the BT Group.

Hugely rewarding

Duarte said: “I’ve had nine hugely rewarding years at EE.

From my original time at Orange to EE, I’ve had some great jobs, worked with some fantastic people and am really proud of the step change in performance we achieved, including my time running EE home broadband and pay-monthly business units. I’m now looking forward to future opportunities.”
