Eurostar Global lands deal to distribute Energizer phones

Eurostar Global is to distribute the new range of Energy phones launched at Mobile World Congress.

The distributor confirmed the agreement exclusively to Mobile News on March 7.

Energizer is globally known for its battery range, while its smartphones have been available in other countries since 2010 by Marseille-based manufacturer and distributor Avenir Telecom.

Energizer will launch 13 smartphones throughout 2018 in the UK starting next month (see Mobile World Congress Report this issue). The Energy range, consisting of feature phones and value smartphones, will be priced from £14.99 to £119.99.

Mid-tier Powermax devices will be £159.99 – £319.99, and the ruggedised hard-case devices start from £39.99 and go up to £399.99.

Mobile consultancy firm Our Perspective lead by former Data Select MD Roy Taylor and marketing director Jason Kemp, were appointed to drive handset sales in the UK by Energizer licensee Avenir Telecom.

Eurostar Global head of commercial and vendor management Steve Hankey (pictured) said: “We are very excited to be working with the Energizer brand and Our Perspective and welcome them to the Eurostar Portfolio.

“It shows that Eurostar are well on track to continue our aggressive expansion plans this year with Vendors who are looking to develop meaningful partnerships with their distributors.

“There is a diverse range of products available across the Energizer brand that we be believe will resonate well with both customers and consumers alike.”

Eurostar Global managing director Peter Carnall added: “2018 is a very important year for Eurostar Global we’ve invested heavily in building an experienced and proven management team and now we are attracting new vendors and customers.

“It is a glowing recommendation of our progress to be the exclusive distributor for Energizer phones.”
