The Nokia 6 will retail for £229.99 prepaid
HMD Global has announced the Nokia 6 will release in the UK tomorrow (April 11) exclusively at Carphone Warehouse.
On prepaid the smartphone will cost £229.99, featuring in a black and copper blend.
The mid-ranger is powered by the Snapdragon 630 processor, HMD Global claimed its new release is 60 per cent faster than last year’s version.
Battery life stands at 3,000mAh which can soak up 50 per cent of juice within 30 minutes of charge via the USB type-C port.
Face unlock will be released in an over-the-air update due between July and September. Out of the box the Nokia 6 will run Android One, a pure Android experience that promises regular security updates and less bloatware.
HMD Global UK and Ireland general manager Sarah Edge said: “The original Nokia 6 was praised for its durability so that is something we’ve built on with its successor. We’ve also made it 60pc faster and added some great new features like USB-type C fast charging and our unique Dual-Sight technology, enhanced with ZEISS optics.
“The previous Nokia 6 delivered exceptional value for money and it was Carphone Warehouse’s most successful exclusive smartphone last year. We didn’t want our fans to have to pay more for the new Nokia 6 so even though you’ll get a much improved smartphone, it’ll still cost the same as before.”
