LG announces 8MP touchsreen KC910

September 5, 2008

New LG KC910, for release October, comes equipped with 8 megapixel camera, touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi

LG has announced an 8 megapixel cameraphone with a full touchscreen interface, the LG KC910.

It also includes Dolby Mobile, an integrated suite of audio processing technologies to bring clean, powerful bass to the music listening.

LG Electronics president and chief executive Dr. Skott Ahn said: "The LG-KC910 follows the success of the LG Viewty, the brand's multi million selling camera phone.

"We have again combined a high-end camera with a full size touchscreen interface to provide the ultimate multimedia experience - in yet another world first device.

"Our customers say a touchscreen is essential for fully utilising high-end multimedia features. The LG-KC910's interface has been developed to meet these requirements."

The KC910, 3G and HSDPA enabled, includes a Schneider-Kreuznach optics, xenon flash, image stabiliser, auto-focus, manual focus, face tracking, smile shot and blink detection. It can record video at up to 120 frames per second. It plays DivX and Xvid movies straight out of the box, without the for encoding.

The handset also comes with assisted GPS navigation and an embedded GPS receiver, giving users the ability to geo-tag photos for later plotting on an interactive map. It also has a 'jogging buddy' programme that uses GPS to track workouts. It includes Wi-Fi too.

The LG KC910 will be available in the UK in October.
