Samsung blows GBP5m on Omnia ads
September 5, 2008
Samsung to spend almost GBP5 million on marketing the Omnia in the UK
Samsung said yesterday it will spend just under £5 million in the UK to market its latest device, the Omnia i900.
The device features a five megapixel camera, touchscreen, GPS, media player, Microsoft Office, and runs on Windows Mobile.
With the tagline 'everything in one touch', it appears to be the manufacturer's answer to feature-packed handsets such as Nokia's upcoming N96 and Sony Ericsson's Xperia, scheduled to launch by the end of this year.
The global marketing campaign for the device is expected to run at just over £24 million.
The UK marketing fund covers advertising in press, online and outdoor. But Samsung said there will be no television campaign for the handset.
