Troubled UK economy to blame for customer cuts

B2B dealers said last week disconnections are up by 10 per cent as customers go out of business in the UK recession.

Dealers complained last week the troubled UK economy was robbing them of new sales and re-signs, as redundancies and prudence kick in. Several small B2B dealers said customers in the building trade had reduced by around 20 per cent in recent months as the recession has kicked in.

One dealer said: “For every business that is reduced, a mobile dealer loses a connection. Everyone is being careful or cutting costs. It is increasingly normal for customers to disconnect.”

Another said: “The recession is hitting us. Customers with 10 lines, say, are typically reducing to eight or lower. But customers are also more productive with their mobile devices, and to get more value from them.”
