O2 UK unveils project to enable software engineers to "collaborate" with punters
O2 has introduced a new developer programme, called O2 Litmus, so the mobile application developer community in the UK to connect directly with end users.O2 Litmus will enable developers to test their ideas and applications on tech-savvy O2 customers.O2 said the developer 'community' programme would allowinnovative software engineers to work collaboratively with O2’s customers in a live virtual laboratory to better 'commercialise' their wares.
O2 is trialling the service in the UK. It will be rolled out to other markets by parent Telefónica if successful.
Telefónica O2 UK customer director Tim Sefton said: "O2 Litmus is a great way of getting customers involved in the making of future O2 products and services – we want to know what they want from their mobile, so getting them to talk to developers from the beginning of the creative process will be of real benefit to everyone involved."
