Craggs has previously spent eight years at O2 across a number of roles

Onecom has bolstered its management team with the appointment of former O2 man Christian Craggs.

Craggs takes up the role of director of mergers and acquisitions strategy and joins from Oakley Advisory where he worked as managing director.

It follows an investment of £100 million made by mid-market private equity firm LDC as the Vodafone strategic partner looks to grow.

Earlier this year Onecom signed a five-year deal with Vodafone that could potentially be worth £600 million.

Craggs will take the lead of shaping the overall business strategy for Onecom, which currently has over 100,000 businesses spanning 10 regional offices. He will also oversee all M and A transactions, from sourcing through to post deal integration.

During his tenure with Oakley Advisory, Craggs focused on mobile, fibre, B2B telecoms and managed service businesses and will report to Onecom CEO Ben Dowd in his new role.

Before this Craggs held various roles at O2 including: group strategy and business development director, head of sales strategy and operations and head of professional and managed services.

Welcoming Craggs appointment, Dowd said: “He’s highly respected in his field and brings with him a strong track record from Oakley Advisory where he was able to make a significant impact in relatively short order.

“I’m confident that the proven expertise he brings to his new role will make him instrumental to Onecom at a hugely exciting point in our company’s history.”
