The acquisition is Radius’ tenth major acquisition and the first in the Republic of Ireland

Radius Payment Solutions has continued its acquisition trail by acquiring a majority stake in Dublin-based telecoms provider Telcom.

It represents the tenth major acquisition made by the fuel card and telematics firm.

The acquisition of Dublin-based Telcom follows that of other telecom firms dating back to 2019, including Pure Telecom, Rainbow Communications, Reliance Networks and Connect Total.

It is the company’s first in the Republic of Ireland, as it seeks to expand its operations in Ireland, after recently opening a new office in Belfast housing more than 130 staff.

Radius also has offices in Dublin, Derry and Galway, with an annual turnover of more than £2.6 billion.

Commenting on the acquisition, Radius founder and CEO Bill Holmes (pictured) said: “Our successful growth strategy is about making the right connections and I’m delighted as part of our tenth strategic growth acquisition to be working with Telcom as we accelerate our growth plans together.

“As old legacy telecommunications become depleted and the ISDN switch-off looms, the future lies in the migration of all voice and data telecommunications on high-speed ISP networks. Together, we are perfectly poised to take further advantage of this significant transition, helping businesses navigate the challenge by adding value and building capacity for future growth.”

Telcom founder and chief technology officer Liam Tully added: “In line with the investment Telcom has made into our core network, this partnership with Radius allows us to achieve our ambitions for growth within the Irish and UK market.”
