Brightstar 20:20 takes part in day of activities for Sport Relief

More than 80 staff volunteered to receive donation calls, with some 300 staff taking part in a number of challenges throughout the day

Hundreds of staff from Brightstar 20:20 took part in fundraising activities for Sport Relief last Friday. with the company’s contact centre selected as an official call centre for the charity.

More than 80 staff volunteered to receive donation calls until 12am at its head office in Crewe, with more than 300 of the 400 members of staff involved throughout the day.

This included taking part in a number of challenges, including ‘Man v Food’, a bake off, 17 mile run, football skills, one mile cycle and press ups. Stoke City Football Club mascot Pottermus mascot was on hand to try to save penalties from staff.

Director of support services Mark Nightingale led the way in the fundraising stakes after raising more than £800 in running the 17 mile journey from home.

Brightstar 20:20 managing director Jim Michel (pictured) said: “All members of staff got behind the charity event, proving that we can still aspire to give something back. It shows that we can offer more than just mobile service solutions.”

Sport Relief has raised more than £195 million since it started in 2002 and so far this year, £53.37 million has been raised. The charity aims to get the nation active to raise money to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people across the world.
