Programme from the distributor will allow its B2B and B2C partners to pay for devices over a 24-month period

Data Select has launched a new hardware leasing scheme to help its B2B and B2C partners with  their cash flow.

The new programme was announced last week by the distributor during its 20th Platinum Club reseller conference and will allow partners to pay for devices over a two-year period.

Data Select director of marketing Jason Kemp (pictured) told Mobile News the launch was a direct response to changes made by UK operators to the way in which they pay their partner for connections, with revenue share replacing upfront payments previously used to cover costs.

“Hardware leasing is a response to a need the networks created,” said Kemp. “The networks used to effectively finance all of their handsets and they don’t anymore, so it has fallen on the reseller.”

Data Select has partnered with two finance companies for the leasing service – but refused to name them. Kemp added the programme will allow either the dealer or the end-customer to take out the agreement.
