Exertis has confirmed that “some employees” at its Kondor distribution business risk losing their jobs as a result of changes to the business.

The Bournemouth Daily Echo reported that up to 150 jobs at the Dorset-based company could be cut across the sales, warehouse and finance departments, citing an unnamed source within Kondor.

An Exertis spokesperson told Mobile News: “We have announced this week some proposed changes to our business at Kondor. As a result, some employees are at risk of redundancy and we are entering into a period of collective and individual consultation.

“No final decisions have been made and we will use the consultation period to discuss viable alternatives to potential redundancies. We will work closely with the employee representatives to find alternative options and we are giving all employees as much information and support as possible during this difficult time.”

Exertis bought Kondor in 2018 alongside American AV distributor Stampede for a combined £110 million.

According to Companies House filings, Kondor’s turnover for the year ending March 31 2019 was £100.3 million. A statement in its accounts reads: “This was below expectations during the year and the directors are taking measures to ensure future growth and performance.”

Kondor counts Carphone Warehouse, Samsung, EE and O2 among its clients on its website.
