New distribution hub will consolidate Exertis’ existing distribution centres into a single site

Exertis’ new national distribution centre will be based at Burnley Bridge Business Park in Lancashire.

The company signed an agreement last month with property developer, Eshton, to take total space at the site in excess of 540,000 sq ft.

A CGI impression of what the site will look like is above.

This includes warehouse space of 433,946 sq ft, two mezzanine floors of 66,478 sq ft in total and office space of 43,196 sq ft. The deal also includes a facility to expand the premises by 200,000 sq ft in future.

The move to the new premises, but not the site, was revealed as part of Exertis’ parent company DCC’s full year financial results published last month.

At the time DCC said it would consolidate its seven distribution centres that it currently operates. Exertis has bases in Basingstoke, Stoke, Altham, Harlow, Raunds and Elland. The relocation will be managed on a “staged basis”.
