2012 predictions: IMPDA chairman Chris Caudle

Mobile News
February 10, 2012

IMPDA chairman Chris Caudle reckons there will be consolidation and acquisition activity within the industry this year, with distributors needing to give dealers enhanced support as smartphone and tablet growth soars

“With the further trouble in the eurozone, which impacts on the UK, it looks more and more as though 2012 could see further consolidation and acquisition within the mobile industry.

“On the whole, the mobile industry is faring okay despite the rough times, however consumers and business are looking more at cutting costs, but the use of mobiles is still increasing.

“Smartphones and the emerging variety of tablets will continue to rise and dominate the market, and it is down to distributors to up their game and give dealers further enhanced support. Dealers, too, will be looking at distribution and making a judgement on who goes the extra mile.”
