Adverts for S6 edge and S6 edge+ have ran across television, print, digital and social media platforms, including YouTube

Samsung has received more than 800,000 views for its ‘School of Rugby’ adverts on YouTube as part of its marketing partnership with England Rugby during the Rugby World Cup.

The five one-minute adverts, which feature both the Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+, are being run across television, print, digital and social media advertising mediums.

They are aimed at enhancing people’s enjoyment of the sport through a humorous campaign featuring British comedian and actor Jack Whitehall, educating viewers about four aspects of the game: power, style, speed and timing.

Whitehall is put through his paces by a number of the players that featured in England’s World Cup winning side in 2003, including captain Martin Johnson, as well as Lawrence Dallaglio, Jason Robinson and Jason Leonard.

For example, the advert educating people on power in rugby, the Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+ smartphones are pictured at the end of the advert with the tagline: “Our most powerful processor yet”. At the end of the advert for style in rugby, it says: “Our most stylish phone yet.”

Pierce refused to rule out further marketing campaigns to combat the inevitable hysteria the new iPhones have brought, but declined to reveal further details.
