Aims to bring rugged devices to a much wider audience

Rugged smartphone vendor AGM Mobile has set out to take on the mid- tier of the rugged market with the launch of its H3 Android smartphone.

The Chinese-based vendor, which also has offices in Hong Kong and the UK, released the smartphone in the UK last month for £189.99.

Specs

The H3, which has a 5.7-inch screen, comes with the latest Android 11 OS and meets IP68 and IP69 standards for water- and dust-proofing.

The device contains 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory, expandable to 128GB via an SD card.

It also supports dual-SIM capability and is powered by a MediaTek processor, as well as incorporating a 5,400mAh battery. AGM Mobile Europe CEO Robert Pryke said: “At AGM, our designers are constantly working to deliver sleeker, more stylish handsets, while maintaining all of the durable elements that make AGM devices special.

“The AGM H3 is the latest example of this, and brings the idea of a rugged device to a much wider audience.”

5G handset

The rugged brand is also gearing up to launch its first 5G handset in Europe, with the AGM G1 5G expected to arrive next month.

Pryke also confirmed to Mobile News that AGM Mobile will release its first rugged Android tablet next year, along with a range of rugged wearables.
