Cat S52 braced for release on November 12

Bullitt Group has confirmed that the Cat S52, its latest smartphone, will be available from next month with prices starting from £449.

The manufacturer specialises in developing rugged handsets and is the global licensee for the Cat and Land Rover brands, with the latest smartphone expected to release on November 12.

It has a fully scratch and crack resistant 5.65-inch HD+ screen with Corner Gorilla glass 6 specifications met and is only 9.69mm thin and 210g in weight.

The Cat S52 has passed a number of rigorous drop tests onto steel according to Cat, as it’s been tested 30 times from 1.5 metres, with drops on every corner and edge of the phone.

It is also waterproof to IP68 standards and dirt and dust-proof and meets MIL STD 810G specifications which means it’s up to Military spec. This means the phone can handle extreme temperatures for up to 24 hours.

Bullitt Group product portfolio VP Peter Cunningham said: “Statistically, one in three Europeans have severely damaged their phone from everyday drops and mishaps in the last three years – that’s a lot of phones breaking.

“Not only is that hugely inconvenient for consumers, but repairing or replacing phones can prove prohibitively expensive. With the Cat S52, we’ve made a smartphone that life won’t break. It’s a true rugged Cat phone at its core, but with a mainstream design that looks and feels great.”

The Cat S52 comes equipped with a dual rear camera including a 12MP sensor and has an 8MP front facing camera.

Other features include; 3,100mAh battery, Android 9 OS, 4GB RAM and 64GB of memory.
