HTC has today (February 29) made the consumer edition of its Vive virtual reality headset available for pre-order in the UK.

The Vive, which is bundled with two controllers, two remote cameras and a headset, will cost £689 and will go on sale from April 5. Pre-orders go live at 3pm in the UK.

The manufacturer has partnered with gaming firm Valve to launch the device, which was unveiled at CES in January and demonstrated at Mobile World Congress last week.

It will ship with three bundled VR experiences as part of a limited time offer from HTC.

· Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives, by Owlchemy Labs: An office simulator where robots have replaced all human jobs.

· Fantastic Contraption, by Northway Games in collaboration with Radial Games.
