Kazam has teamed up with roaming SIM specialists 24 Seven Communications for the package

Kazam has teamed up with 24 Seven Communications to offer a handset and SIM bundle specifically aimed at the taxi industry.

The Trooper X5.5 handset (pictured) will be available with Leeds-based 24 Seven Communications’ Jump roaming SIM on a nationwide basis. The Jump SIM works on O2, EE and Vodafone. It automatically switches to the network with the strongest connection in an area. This is the first time 24 Seven, who also offers M2M and VoIP services, has partnered with a manufacturer to offer the Jump SIM.

24 Seven Communications, formed 2004, launched the Jump SIM in 2015 after a year’s development. It claims uptake from taxi and private hire firms has hit the thousands.

24 Seven Communications managing director David Samuel said: ““Private hire has been a breakthrough industry for the Jump SIM. Taxi and private hire firms can see the benefits of better coverage by using a national roaming SIM, and our partnership with Kazam will give an even more compelling reason to choose this solution.”

Kazam UK & Ireland manager Andy Lee added: “If taxi professionals slip into a mobile black-spot, or if their network fails, that can make a real difference to profitability. Taxis need to stay connected more of the time, from the point of view of accurate fares, ensuring reliable directions and not least from a safety point of view.”
