Roh joined vendor in 1997
Samsung has appointed Tae Moon Roh as its new smartphone chief as it looks to consolidate its leading market share.
Roh took over the job from DJ Koh on Monday, according to Bloomberg. Koh remains in his role as the president and CEO of Samsung’s IT & mobile communications division, but Roh will focus on the growth of the low- and mid-tier sections of the market for the Korean vendor.
It is likely that Roh will take the stage at Samsung’s February 11 event in San Francisco that will see it unveil its new flagship, rumoured to be called the Galaxy S20. It has also been suggested that Samsung will announce a second foldable device.
