Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei expects the US to further limit Huawei but is confident the vendor will overcome future challenges.

He made the claims during a session at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland as Huawei’s position in the UK still remains unclear.

“I think the US should not be over concerned about Huawei and Huawei’s position in the world,” said Zhengfei.

“This year the US might further escalate their campaign against Huawei but I feel the impact on Huawei’s business will not be very significant.”

Despite the ongoing uncertainty with the US, Huawei shipped over 200 million smartphones last year.

While last week (January 14) Prime Minister Boris Johnson questioned the quality of the available alternatives to Huawei’s 5G equipment, offering encouragement to the Chinese vendor.
