ZTE has signed 25 commercial 5G contracts so far

ZTE began its Wireless User Congress and 5G Summit event in Vienna this morning (October 22) with a host of guest speakers taking to the stage.

It’s the vendor’s second 5G summit after last year’s event in Italy, with ZTE’s SVP of global sales Xiao Ming kicking things off.

Ming spoke positively about ZTE’s position on 5G, and said that the company see’s itself as “pioneers in the industry for 5G”.

Ming also reflected on the position ZTE is in now, compared to when 2G, 3G and 4G networks were launched.

“We used to be a follower in the 2G, 3G and 4G era, but we are now among the leading positions when it comes to 5G,” said Ming.

ZTE works with more than 60 operators around the world on 5G, in China, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and other major 5G markets.

Other speakers at the event included representatives from Hutchinson Drei Austria (Three), Orange Spain, China Telecom, Qualcomm and GSMA plus more.
