CofE partner also looking to recruit additional sales staff as part of drive to grow revenues

O2 Centre of Excellence partner Avian Telecom has hired two experienced telecoms marketeers as part of a £250,000 marketing push.

Paul Leonard, formerly head of commercial sponsorship at BT until 2006 and Simon Ingman who was BT’s head of brand and reputation until 2005, will head up the company’s in-house marketing team. They are being employed on an ongoing consultancy basis.

Avian says that it is looking to capitalise on an upturn in the economy and the rapidly expanding portfolio of telecoms services it is able to offer.

Avian Telecom sales director Simon Price also revealed that the company was recruiting for new sales people as part of their drive to increase sales.

“We’re also recruiting sales staff to capitalise on this upswing because we are determined to take a consolidated approach; ensuring we have the capability to capture and handle all the response that our marketing activity creates,” he said.
