Brightstar Corp. appoints Emer Timmons as CMO and president of strategic sales

Telecoms veteran joins from BT after more than a decade at the UK giant 

Brightstar Corp has appointed Emer Timmons to the new role of chief marketing officer and president of strategic sales.

She is charged with building and sustaining the Brightstar brand and will lead the develop of sales strategy and deals with carrier, retail and enterprise customers across the company’s footprint of 100 countries.

Timmons (pictured) joins with 20 years telecoms experience, most recently having spent a decade at BT Group. From 2010-2015, she led the BT Global Services UK business, which included responsibility for global corporate customers and accountability for a multi-billion pound UK and Global P&L.

For the past year, she has served as president of BT Group Strategic Deals and Customer Engagement, working with its customers and responsible for delivering deals from £50 million to more than £1 billion in value.

Brightstar president and CEO Jaymin B. Patel said: “Emer brings a wealth of global experience in the telecomm industry from her distinguished career, and she is the perfect fit to lead both our marketing and sales initiatives.

“Marketing is at the core of our customer partnerships and is critical to our strategy as a business, and on the sales strategy side, she will create deeper insights into our partners’ businesses and help Brightstar deliver our services that provide greater long-term value for customers.”
