The company is also looking to expand its WeFix service to more locations this year

Brightstar has announced its WeFix service has reported a record-breaking year.

The UK distributor revealed its repair bookings had grown by 75 per cent year-on-year, with average repair times at 45 minutes.

Brightstar UK acquired the mobile repair service accredited by Samsung in April last year, with plans to expand its fleet of WeFix mobile workshops to 150 from 73 by the end of 2022.

The service covers over 90 per cent of the UK population and supports a repair service for both smartphones and tablets.

Brightstar executive vice president Gerry O’Keeffe said: “We’re delighted with the performance of WeFix and our partnership with Samsung. The WeFix solution is an integral part of our wider device protection portfolio and our partners are benefiting from the best customer experience demonstrated by consistently enhanced NPS scores.

“Together with the recent acquisition of LucidCX we’re able to bring together enhanced, differentiated customer experiences for our clients and raise the bar with exciting new services.”

WeFix chief operating officer Oliver Murphy added: “We’re thrilled to see the huge growth of WeFix over the last 12 months and shows how much consumers have embraced our concept. The pandemic combined with mass home working has underlined how reliant we’ve all become on our technology.”

The repair firm is looking to recruit more technicians as the service expands through the UK. These areas include Bath, Balham, Charlton, Chigwell, Islington, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Manchester, London, Guildford, Chester and Wolverhampton.
