Brightstar UK has appointed Nick Lefever as supply chain operations director in a newly created role.

Lefever brings over 28 years of mobile experience and served as transformation director (procurement and supply) for Telefonica Europe. He also had a spell as O2’s head of business in the UK

He was supply chain director for Three until 2008, and before that Vodafone’s head of logistics.

Lefever said: “I have been watching Brightstar’s tremendous growth and ambition for a number of years and now I’m delighted that I have the opportunity to work to further develop the business.

“Brightstar needs to continue to differentiate itself from the competition and I am particularly looking forward to helping with this.”

The newly-created role will see him work with the existing Brightstar management structure to gain greater efficiencies from existing relationships and develop new business within the UK and the EMEA.

It comes at a time where Brightstar claims to have won “several high profile contracts” during the last 12 months, but has lost its distribution deal with Samsung.

Brightstar UK managing director Jim Michel said: “We are excited to welcome Nick to our management team as we continue to grow our business.

“Nick brings with him 28 years of mobile experience and truly understands the supply chain challenges and opportunities facing many of our key partners. Nick will play a major role as we continue to deliver our strategy and pipeline of opportunities.”
