BT appoints Bridget Lea as MD of Commercial for consumer division

Lea will join the company in January 2021

BT Group has today announced the appointment of Bridget Lea as managing director of commercial for its consumer division, following the departure of Ettienne Brandt.

Lea joins the business from Sainsbury’s and Argos, prior to which she led stores, online, and omnichannel at O2 for almost six years. She is also on the Board of Governors for the University of Manchester and a non-executive director for Marston’s PLC.

BT Group Consumer CEO Marc Allera said: “Bridget will be a fantastic addition to the team and the delivery of our Connecting for Good plan.

“She brings a great combination of retail and telecoms experience, as well as a passion for diversity, nurturing talent, and delivering customer-focused change.”

Bridget Lea said: “I’m delighted to join the Consumer team and look forward to building on the great work the team is already delivering across the Best of Both plans and BT’s customer retention performance.”

Lea joins after Ettienne Brandt announced he was leaving the business after 10 years to pursue other opportunities.

Allera said of his departure: “I would like to thank Ettienne for being a key member of my leadership team over the last five years.

“I will miss his drive and passion for improving performance in our Consumer business and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Lea and Brandt will handover in January 2021, to ensure a smooth transition and continued commercial success.
