Retailer begins selling accessories that work in sync with mobile applications, initially available in 10-15 stores and via the company’s website

Carphone Warehouse has launched a new range of accessories that work in sync with mobile applications.

The retailer said the range, named “App-cessories”, will become a top priority for the business this year as part of its continued support for app technology.

The dedicated App-cessories area will be available in 10-15 selected stores, before being rolled out to a further 150 stores across the UK in time for the Summer.

In-store, they will be featured as part of the premium Apple Zone area, specialising in accessories for iPads and iPhones, some with dual Android capability. They are also now available from Carphone’s website.

The App-cessories fall under the categories Health and Fitness, In Car, Fun & Games, and Music.

The range includes items such as the Atari Arcade for the iPad to play Atari games, as well as the Roadtrip Handsfree Kit, enabling users to mount, charge up, make handsfree calls and play music through their Apple devices whilst driving.

Carphone Warehouse CEO Andrew Harrison (pictured) said: “Not only do we celebrate the best of the business in the Carphone Warehouse Appys, but now by also showcasing all the best gadgets and accessories available. Our App-cessories areas will help smartphone users enhance and make full use of their smartphone experience.”
