Store staff at the retailer will be able to use an app from the mobile performance measurement firm to inform staff of which network provides the best coverage in their local area

Carphone Warehouse has partnered with RootMetrics to provide customers with accurate information of the best network coverage in their area.

Using data collected through the RootMetrics CoverageMap App, it will enable staff at the retailer to compare how reliably and quickly the four major networks – EE, O2, Vodafone and Three – are performing where they live. This information is all provided independent of the networks themselves.

The coverage app from the mobile performance measurement firm combines millions of scientific tests and crowd-sourced samples to provide localised views on UK network performance.

Carphone Warehouse UK and Ireland CEO Graham Stapleton (pictured) said: “By working with RootMetrics we are taking affirmative action to give our customers even more in depth analysis, allowing them to make a smarter comparison of the networks before making a choice.”

RootMetrics CEO and president Bill Moore said: “This is an important alliance that plays to both companies’ strengths. With mobile phone contracts lasting anywhere up to 24 months, choosing the right provider cannot be taken lightly. RootMetrics casts an independent light on the true mobile performance of the UK networks.

“By providing our data directly to Carphone Warehouse customers on the spot, they will be able to make more informed decisions on their mobile provider.”
