Carphone reports a 119pc rise in mobile sales on Cyber Monday

Carphone Warehouse has reported a 119 per cent increase on mobile device orders during Cyber Monday compared to the same day last year.

The top selling item was the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (pictured), with order numbers up by 695 per cent compared to the whole of the previous week’s sales. Overall orders on the Carphone Warehouse website increased by 62 per cent compared to the previous seven days. Carphone said it was unable to provide exact sales figures.

The peak hour for both desktop and mobile/tablet traffic on the Carphone website was between 8pm and 9pm yesterday evening.

Carphone’s ‘Flash Sale’, which ends at 11:59pm tonight, involves discounts off a number of Samsung Galaxy mobile devices on contract and prepay, including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy Y and Galaxy Tab 3 (7-inch).

The Galaxy S4 Mini, which was £99 upfront on contract, is now free. It is available for £17 a month on O2 with either 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data or 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB of data.
