Two appointments made, including that of former Nokia senior national account manager Rob Hunt

Data Select has bolstered its sales teams with the appointments of former Nokia account manager Rob Hunt and Katherine Corb as its new national account managers.

According to managing director Roy Taylor (pictured), the move is to help boost the firm’s opportunities in the retail and key account space – adding to existing relationships which include Argos, Asda, Dixons, Fonehouse, Go Mobile, Tesco and John Lewis.

Hunt, who will focus on retail, joins Data Select from data storage firm Seagate, where he spent four years as its UK and Ireland retail channel manager. Prior to that, he was a senior national account manager at Nokia for almost three years,

His appointment increases the team to eight, following the recent addition of Wayne Bolton, formerly of accessory sourcing firm 3G Technologies, to help develop the retail accessory portfolio.

Competitive

Corb joins Data Select’s key accounts team and will focus on the needs of the independent reseller channel. Her appointment follows those of Zoe Pullen and Zannet Zisimpoulou. Corb joins from construction group FCC where she spent eight months as a key account manager

Taylor said: “Although distribution is fiercely competitive, there are still opportunities to exploit. Our new financial year starts next week and with targets to achieve we need the best people. Retail and key accounts offer the best opportunity for growth in the market, which is why we are investing in those teams.”
