Vodafone platinum partner wins 150 connection contract, with the majority of the handsets supplied being BlackBerrys

Excalibur Communications has signed a deal with solicitors Thrings LLP worth 150 connections.

The “multi-year” contract – valued at around “six figures” by the dealer – includes mostly BlackBerry handsets.

Thrings LLP, which has offices in Bristol, Bath, Swindon and London, was connected to Vodafone through BT before. Chris Harding, director of IT and facilities at Thrings LLP, said the firm switched from BT because of the level of customer service Excalibur could provide.

“Their ability to combine technical assistance and a range of IT and communication experience means Excalibur can be a long-term partner as Thrings looks at UC solutions, including mobile working, to better service our client base.

“Their proposal represented excellent value, and their customer service proposition was a significant factor in the decision-making process.”

Excalibur CEO James Phipps (pictured) added: “I am delighted that we have managed to bring a top 100 UK law firm on board in Thrings LLP and although we were not the cheapest it was our service, overall value and ability to offer other services to them which helped us win the tender process.”
