Vodafone Platinum Partner will provide IT, landlines and mobile for Jersey-based Butcombe Brewery

Vodafone Platinum Partner Excalibur Communications has struck a deal to provide fully managed services for Wrington based brewer Butcombe Brewery.

Butcombe, which was recently purchased by Jersey-based pubs chain Liberation Group, is present in more than 1,000 pubs including 18 of its own, and has been provided with XX of mobiles by Excalibur.

It has agreed to extend the deal for Excalibur to provide a fully-managed services package after seeing what it said was a seven per cent saving on its mobile bills since Excalibur became its provider in September.

Excalibur will now provide IT and landlines to accompany the mobile portfolio it provides for Butcombe, along with an undisclosed number of Samsung tablets for the brewery’s staff to use.

Andy Tow, Excalibur’s Managing Director, said: “Working with an expanding business such as Butcombe Brewery is an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate our comprehensive capabilities.

“The main challenge we have been working on is to enhance communication between Butcombe Brewery staff on the road and their colleagues in the office. Almost half of the mobile calls on the road were to the office, so tablets are being deployed to provide direct access to office software, which will be far more efficient.”

Butcombe Brewery managing director Guy Newell, Butcombe said: “Previously we’ve worked with various suppliers, which was proving increasingly costly, complicated and inconsistent.

“When Excalibur first began handling our mobile phones we soon saw the benefits, including a seven per cent drop in our bills and a marked rise in customer service, the like of which we hadn’t seen from other suppliers.

“This gave us the confidence to also place our IT with Excalibur, as well as our landlines, which must fuse together effectively as we look to grow our business and be at our best for our customers.”
