The MVNO’s products will be available both in-store and online from the retail giant

Lancashire-based MVNO Anywhere SIM has signed its first major retail agreement with Argos, expecting it to add thousands more in connections by the end of the year.

The SIM cards are available now from any of Argos 840 stores and online, with prices starting from £1. Each SIM can connect to O2, Vodafone and EE. It chooses whichever operator has the strongest 3G signal in any given area. The deal is ongoing, with no set termination date.

Customers who buy the products can then simply register them online and top up with the required credit, either via the internet or over the phone. Standard rates are 10p per minute, 5p per message and 10p per MB of data. A complimentary SIM with £5 of credit will be given to anyone who purchases a Doro phone from Argos.

It is the latest in a number of major deals signed by the MVNO. it partnered with Norfolk County Council at the start of the year, providing it with 4,500 connections over a four-year period.

Anywhere SIM launched in August last year and currently has more than 10,000 connections. CEO Matthew Wright told Mobile News: “We’ve got an ever growing demographic of customers, ranging from people who use Doro devices to those who use smartphones.

“The good thing about Argos is that it’s one of the most sophisticated and accessible retailers on the high street. You get the same experience shopping with Argos online as you do in-store. There’ll be some significant interest and I expect our connections to be boosted by the thousands over the next year.”
