Vishal Chhatralia joins from RS Components to drive digital charge at the distributor

Exertis has announced the appointment of Vishal Chhatralia as its new chief digital officer.

Chhatralia joins the distributor from Electrocomponents (RS Components) in what is a newly created role.

In his new position Chhatralia has been tasked with developing Exertis’ digital strategy through implementing fresher digital marketing techniques.

He will report to DCC Technology MD Tim Griffin and Exertis UK and Ireland MD Paul Bryan.

Speaking to Mobile News Chhatralia said: “Digital is becoming a big part of how people want to interact and transact, so my role is to move the business forward using digital technology.

“Our vendors want much more partnership on how we create demand for their products and the way we create demand for these products will be through digital marketing techniques, and leveraging YouTube, Google, Amazon and eBay, when we’ve previously used more traditional channels.”

Chhatralia joins Exertis from RS Components where he spent over a decade following a successful graduate scheme.

During his tenure at RS he had numerous roles including marketing manager, senior digital product owner, head of digital product management and most recently global senior vice president of innovation.

He added: “I am looking forward to the challenge of taking the business on a digital journey to exploit the opportunities that exist across sales, customer service and marketing to create a world class customer experience.”

Griffin added: “This is a key role for the Exertis Group as we look to exploit opportunities to deliver projects that create value by improving our customer engagement and loyalty, driving additional revenue and achieving new operational efficiencies.”
